Pro Bono / CSR

At Kushnir, Yakymyak & Partners we devote substantial attention to service for the benefit of our community. The energy, vision and skills of our lawyers are the most valuable assets that we can contribute to improving the standards of living in our communities, assisting with access to justice, as well as building civil society and promoting Rule of Law in Ukraine. For us this is not just words, but everyday concrete actions - be it providing the quality legal services, Pro Bono counseling of those in need, or involvement in a wide range of public service activities.

Providing Pro Bono counseling for those in need, who would not otherwise be able to afford legal assistance, is the firm’s corporate social responsibility, and at the same time the professional responsibility of our lawyers. The firm’s track in Pro Bono work encompasses a wide range of legal issues, with especial dedication to the issues pertaining children.

The Firm supports a number of NGOs and community initiatives through Pro Bono legal service, chairing or serving on board of NGOs, and making in-kind or financial contributions. Some NGOs benefit from Firm’s facilities and personnel, which are fully available for their activities, including Public Commission for Prevention and Investigation of Human Rights Violations in Ukraine, Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Program Alumni Association, and Tax Advisors Association.

Understanding the great importance of receiving practical knowledge and international experience by future leaders of legal profession, the Firm cooperates with Ukrainian universities for providing the internship opportunities for the best students. Senior lawyers of the Firm were also committed to extracurricular training of law students and promoting participation of Ukrainian universities at the international moot court competitions, in particular:

The Firm provided counseling and financial assistance for students to participate at the international rounds of some of these competitions. Partners of the Firm also acted as judges at the Ukrainian National Rounds of Philip C. Jessup and arbitrators of Willem C. Vis Moot Court Competitions.
